Sargent Road Farmhouse began as a vision for education.

Jennifer Claphan’s work has always centered on learning, care, and community. That vision first took shape through early childhood education, where the farmhouse served as a foundation for preschool programs and hands-on learning rooted in connection, creativity, and real-world experience.

As seasons of life shifted and the children grew, the farmhouse evolved. The space was opened as a short-term rental to serve a practical community need—providing a welcoming place for families visiting from out of town, gatherings during life transitions, and a comfortable home base during meaningful moments.

Over time, it became clear that the farmhouse could serve an even greater purpose.

Today, Jennifer is intentionally expanding the use of Sargent Road Farmhouse to meet the growing needs of the community—offering the space for workshops, retreats, and educational gatherings led by teachers and facilitators who bring people together to learn, create, and connect.

Rather than functioning as a traditional venue, the farmhouse is stewarded with care and purpose, allowing it to remain grounded, sustainable, and aligned with its original educational roots. Each evolution of the space reflects a simple guiding principle: use what we have to serve what’s needed now.
